Taipei International Commercial Film Festival to be held Sept. 5 The 2007 Taipei International Commercial Film Festival will kick off on 5th September 2007, featuring nine distinguished advertising creative workers from the world''s leading advertising firms, event organizer Advertising Magazine said.Over 400 professionals in the fields of advertising, public relations, marketing, media and academia are expected to attend the festival this year.Advertising Magazine publisher Johnny Duann said that he hopes the festival can stimulate Taiwan''s advertising industry which has floundered in the past three years as advertising firms direct their resources to mainland China.Organizers have invited award-winning advertising creative workers, including Akira Kagami from Dentsu, Tan Kien Eng from Leo Burnett and Arc, Calvin Soh from Publicis, Chukiat Jaroensuk from EURO RSCG Flagship, Andy Greenaway from Saatchi & Saatchi, Sheung Yan from JWT, Nils Andersson from O&M and Danny Searle from BBDO.A recent speaker at Cannes Lion 2007, Kagami (pictures), whose advertising works have won him a Grand Prix and awards at Clio, IBA Sweepstakes, ADC, Cannes, Asia Pacific, One Show, and D&AD has enjoyed godfather status in Japan''s advertising world, according to Duann. Kagami has also continuously held seminars in international advertising festivals to call global attention to the dynamic and diverse Asian advertising industry.Tan Kien Eng, or Kien as he is more commonly known, heads all creative and business development for the agency as the managing director of both Leo Burnett and Arc Worldwide Malaysia.Kien's awards include the Grand and Gold awards at the New York Festivals, Gold Caples International Awards, and four out of six "Best of Shows" at the Malaysian Direct Marketing Award.Soh's campaigns for Toyota, Hewlett Packard, Lexus, Visa, Amex, Qualcomm and the Republic of Singapore Navy have won Gold and Silver Pencils in New York's One Show, Lions in Cannes and Silver nominations and commendations in London's D&AD. Jaroensuk and his creative team's 11 News 1 Channel campaign in Thailand became the most popular ad in the region and ranked seventh in the most awarded print ads in Gunn Report.Greenaway joined Saatchi & Saatchi as Regional Creative Director for Southeast Asia in 2005 before being elected to the Saatchi World Wide Creative Board.Greenaway has won numerous awards in his career, including Golds at Cannes, Clio, and One Show, as well as a Silver at D&AD.Yan joined JWT Shanghai in 1996 and since then JWT has won the Grand Prix in the inaugural China 4As Golden Seal Award in 2006.JWT Shanghai has also won awards in Cannes, One Show, Asia Pacific ADFEST, LongXi Global Chinese Advertising Award and China Times Chinese Advertising Awards.Andersson assumed responsibility as Group Executive Creative Director at Ogilvy and Mather in 2004, and brings to O & M two decades of experience.Andersson has won awards at London International, One Show, Cannes and Best of Show at the New York Festivals.Searle, who has been a member of the film jury at Cannes, is invited to the judge panel at this year''s One Show Awards.Searle has won accolades at One Show, Cannes, D&AD, Clio and New York Festivals.
